We recently were contacted by the Jamison Miller Insurance Agency of Dunbar, WV with a simple request: "Improve our web site." The agency (formed earlier this year) had been using a create-it-yourself web site hosted by a national service, and was unhappy with the limited design capabilities offered through the service's template-based approach to web hosting. On top of that, the monthly hosting fees charged by the national service appeared to be fairly expensive for the benefit received.
After a short meeting with Jamison Miller, we created a new web site for the agency using the latest DotNetNuke technology as a platform. We quickly transferred the content from their old web site into the new site, making updates and improvements along the way.
When everything was finished, the agency had a new web site that promoted their business with a profesional look and gave them a platform on which to easily (and inexpensively) expand communications with their clients. Oh yes - we also hosted the new web site at a cost of about 20% of the fee they were previously being charged by the national service they were using.
With their new web site, the Jamison Miller Insurance Agency can login using a web browser and make content changes to their own site, quickly and easily (and without the cost associated with hiring an outside firm to manage their content). The new site also allows visitors to register on the site, making it easy for the agency to contact them later with newsletters and/or e-mails highlighting special offers and helpful tips. Although the new web site is fairly simple for now, the agency is planning to expand its functionality as their business grows, eventually adding news items, discussion forums, and other means of keeping their clients updated on their offerings.
